The Sapir-Whorf hypothesis
Philosophy, in ancient Greek, means: “love of wisdom”. In my project: HAblARTE en español, I prefer to talk about teaching philosophy rather than teaching methods or approaches.
With this, I intend to challenge the traditional education that considers the professor as the master and the students as brains able to systematically memorize what they will have to answer in an exam later.
Instead, I seek to see in each of my clients more than a student but the human being they are with all of their complexity.
Our Zoom calls or our meetings somewhere in Oaxaca are safe spaces to explore areas of our everyday life such as work, family, friends and our inner world in Spanish.
All of this using exercises, games and your coach as a guide to build knowledge and your new identity in another language.
For this, I adapt the sessions to the individual pace and learning style. What will matter in our lessons is quality over quantity, the depth and the meaning.
You will see that over time, you will be able to perceive and express all that you are in your mother tongue plus your new vision of life through Hispanic, Mexican, Oaxacan and Zapotec eyes united in one unique self.
This way, you will be able to face challenges in all aspects of your life.
